North Harpswell, Maine
Skolfield Boat House
This is a replica of the Skolfield Shipyard boat house, originally built in 1911 and destroyed during a winter storm in the 1970s.
Tom Skolfield and his wife Mary Orr settled near this place in North Harpswell in 1739.
Members of their family constructed more than 100 wooden sailing vessels here between 1799 and 1887. Descendants of the family continue to own the property to this day.
